Which size does your dog need
Measure your dog from nose to base of tail while they are stretched out on their side, then add about 4 inches so nothing important hangs off. If you are between sizes, size up — a mat that is slightly big becomes a bed, a mat that is too small gets ignored.

- Do not put it in the freezer. Freezing separates the gel and it will not recharge properly afterward.
- Keep it out of direct sun. A gel mat in a sunny window heats up faster than it can shed.
- Not the right pick for dogs who actively destroy bedding. A punctured mat stops cooling, and torn pieces or leaked gel can upset a dog's stomach — a fabric cooling mat is a safer match for serious chewers.

Common questions
How long does it stay cool per session?
The gel actively cools while your dog is lying on it and their weight is activating it. Once they stand up, it resets in about 15 to 20 minutes and is ready again. Many dogs use it for a 20 to 40 minute nap, then come back to it later in the day.
Is the gel safe if my dog nibbles the mat?
A serious chewer is not the right fit for any gel-filled mat, including ours — a punctured mat stops cooling, and swallowed gel or shredded material can upset a dog's stomach. If your dog is a light nibbler, keep an eye on early wear and replace the mat at the first sign of damage. If your dog does puncture the mat and swallow the contents, call your vet.
Will it work outside on a hot day?
In shade, yes. In direct sun, no — the sun heats the surface faster than the gel can absorb. Put it on the shaded patio, under the porch, or in the car with the AC running.
My dog is skeptical of new beds. Any tips?
Common story. Lay the mat on their usual spot with a light towel over it for the first day, drop a treat or a favorite toy on it, and let curiosity do the work. Most dogs commit within a couple of tries once they feel how the surface responds to their weight.
Does it need to be plugged in or refilled?
No. There is no water reservoir, no cord, no batteries, and nothing to top up. You unbox it, put it on the floor, and your dog does the rest.

How do I clean it?
Care instructions for this item are in the description above. When a cover is removable, wash it cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Do not machine-dry foam or bolster inserts. Bowls, mats and fountains: hand wash unless the description says dishwasher safe.

I bought this mat with some skepticism, but I was very pleasantly surprised. When you touch it, you feel an instant cooling effect that is wonderful; I didn't expect it to actually be that cool. The quality feels great: on one side, a soft padded touch; on the other, a breathable mesh that dissipates heat well. The final verdict came from my cat! He loved it from the first second and now doesn't leave it to take his naps. Definitely a total success for summer.
My cat loved it in the first few minutes. It's made of fabric, which makes it much easier. I used to have gel mats and my cats would burst them during play — I had to keep replacing them. Since this is fabric, I believe it will last longer. Super soft, fuzzy fabric that's also cooling.
