My dog simply loves this snuffle mat! The finish quality is excellent, and the materials feel sturdy and durable. You can hide treats in it very well, which mentally stimulates the dog and keeps him busy for longer. Especially for rainy days or when you have less time, this is a perfect activity. The mat stays in place well and doesn't slide around constantly. Cleaning is also simple, which is very important for daily use. A clear recommendation for all dog owners!

If your dog inhales dinner in thirty seconds, gets the zoomies at 5 pm, or spends too many hours home alone, this little square of fleece changes the day. Tuck a cup of kibble into the strips and watch her switch from bored to focused for the first real time all afternoon.
Why dog parents choose it
- A meal that becomes a foraging game — sniffing and searching gives dogs real mental work, and a short session before rest time can help a busy dog wind down.
- Slows fast eaters without a fight — the fleece strips hide about a cup of dry kibble, so a meal that used to disappear in seconds now takes several minutes of nose-work instead.
- Non-slip base stays put — the textured backing grips hardwood, tile, and low-pile rug, so your dog noses through the fleece instead of dragging the mat across the room.
- Machine washable, folds flat — drop it in a mesh laundry bag on cold, air-dry overnight, and slide it under the couch or into a carry-on for road trips.
- Fabric strips, no gadgets — no squeakers, no batteries, no plastic clips to pop off. Nothing to jam, nothing to replace.
- Fits crate mornings and studio apartments — the 17 x 17 in footprint sits neatly beside a feeding bowl, and works for dogs from 8 lb up through most 80 lb retrievers.
What is in the box

Size guide
| Your dog | Fit on the 17 x 17 mat |
|---|---|
| Toy and small (under 20 lb) | Great fit. Start with half a cup so the puzzle feels winnable. |
| Medium (20 to 50 lb) | The sweet spot. Use the full cup and bury it deeper each week. |
| Large (50 to 80 lb) | Comfortable. Push the kibble down into the base of the fleece to add a minute or two. |
| Giant (80 lb and up) | Works, but expect a fast solve. Two mats side by side gives a bigger foraging field. |
Care
- Shake out crumbs after each session so nothing sours between washes.
- Machine wash cold in a mesh laundry bag every 3 to 5 uses, or every two days if you feed both meals on it.
- Skip the dryer. Lay flat to air dry overnight so the fleece keeps its lift.
- Use dry kibble only. Wet food and raw will mat the fleece and shorten the mat's life.
- Keep it away from heavy chewers and put it away between sessions. It is a foraging toy, not a chew toy.
Shipping and returns
- Ships in 1 to 2 business days from our warehouse in the United States.
- Free shipping on orders over $49.
- 30-day happy-dog guarantee. If your dog is not into it, email support@lucentisllc.com and we refund the order, no debate.
Common questions
My dog vacuums her food. Will this actually slow her down?
For most dogs the fleece forces her to nose each piece out one at a time instead of gulping, so the meal takes noticeably longer. Start with kibble sprinkled lightly on top so she wins the first few tries, then bury it deeper each day.
Is it safe if my dog tries to chew the mat?
The mat is built for nose-work, not teeth. Like any fabric enrichment toy, keep an eye on determined chewers and put it away when the meal is done. Puppies under six months should always be supervised on it.
How do I introduce it the first time?
Let your dog watch you drop four or five treats on top of the fleece. Praise the first sniff. Add a few more over the next couple of sessions and stop before she gets frustrated. Most dogs have the idea within a day or two.
Will it slide on hardwood?
The textured backing grips smooth floors and short-pile rugs. On deep shag or thick carpet the mat itself will not slip, but the pile underneath can bunch. On those surfaces, try it on the tile or wood next to the rug.

Great snuffle mat for dogs and puppies! Arrived well packaged. Hide some food or training treats in the play mat and your dog will be busy searching for them. It's good for the dog's brain and patience. I recommend this interactive snuffle mat!
Received the mat in just 4 days. As described in the listing. My 3-month-old puppy is having a lot of fun with it. Still need to test durability long-term.
I was very satisfied with my order. It's exactly as described in terms of color, shape, size, and material.
Matches the description, satisfied with my order. First test with my dog was very satisfying. However, it won't last long, but for the price it's acceptable.
