Care and cleaning
- Weekly: pull the top bowl and pump, rinse with warm water and a drop of unscented dish soap, wipe dry. Takes just a few minutes.
- Every 2 to 3 weeks: swap the carbon filter. Soak the pump impeller in a 50/50 white-vinegar and water bath for 10 minutes to keep the flow strong.
- Do not run it dry on purpose, put the pump in the dishwasher, or use bleach in the reservoir.

Common questions
Will it really be quiet enough for my apartment?
At about 25 dB the pump is quieter than a running refrigerator. Most owners tell us they forget it is on until the dog walks up for a drink. If the noise ever creeps up, it almost always means the pump needs a rinse, not a replacement.
What if my dog is scared of running water at first?
Start on the gentlest flow mode and place the fountain a few feet from the old bowl for the first two or three days. Many dogs settle within a week; a smaller number take two. If yours is in the second group, the 30-day guarantee is there for a reason.
Can I use it for a cat too?
Yes. The bowl height is comfortable for cats, and the smooth stainless surface is easy to keep clean, which many multi-pet homes prefer. In a mixed-species home, plan on filter swaps closer to every two weeks.
Where do the replacement filters come from?
Standard-size activated-carbon rounds that fit most 2 to 3 L fountains. We sell them on the same site, and generic activated-carbon rounds sold at most pet retailers will also fit.
Is the pump powered by an outlet or batteries?
USB cable plugs into any standard 5V USB adapter (the kind you use for a phone). Any old phone brick will run it.

How do I clean it?
Care instructions for this item are in the description above. When a cover is removable, wash it cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Do not machine-dry foam or bolster inserts. Bowls, mats and fountains: hand wash unless the description says dishwasher safe.
